Covered transport, effectively always
An enclosed trailer keeps weather, road grit and prying eyes away for the whole journey. For art, antiques, instruments and original-finish vehicles there is no sensible argument for anything else.
Declared value and cover
Record what the item is genuinely worth at booking. Before dispatch, ask us for the assigned carrier’s certificate and check the limits, exclusions and deductible against that figure — you should see it before the item is collected, and we will send it. For very high values, specialist fine-art cover arranged separately is often the right answer, and we will say so rather than pretend a standard policy is enough.
Condition documentation
Photograph the item thoroughly in good light before collection, including close-ups of any existing marks, and note anything the handler needs to know. Complete the condition report with the driver at collection, compare against it at delivery, and write any difference onto the document while the driver is still present. On an irreplaceable item this matters more than on anything else you will ship.
Crating
Custom crating is available and is the right call for paintings, mirrors, sculpture and anything with a fragile projecting element. A crate built to the item costs more than a box and is cheaper than a repair.

Can I see the carrier’s cover before collection?
Yes, and you should. Ask your coordinator and we will send the certificate with the limits, exclusions and deductible.
Is standard cargo cover enough for a valuable item?
Often not. Above a certain value, specialist fine-art or collectibles cover arranged separately is the right approach — we will tell you when that applies.
Do you ship classic vehicles?
Yes. Covered transport with lift-gate loading, soft wheel straps and winch loading for non-runners that still roll and steer.
